Dear you,
The softest tone brings your voice
to life
Through distant lines,
And I cry with it:
to bring you back safely to me.
Safe at all;
Safe to anyone,
Tasting this touch in full.
To carry you across the
Weathered valleys
Leathered forests
Feathered words
Through the clouds and
In its arms,
Closer to me
(Always to me: empty without you).
And did you know
That all these letters
Without form and punctuation,
Without sense and pondered hope,
Are written only to elude to
The vague outline of my heartshaped lips,
That part for your kiss
To make its way through
And close to the tears at your goodbye?
There are no secrets now,
Only truth.
Like love embracing laughter,
Breath hanging in the air,
Spelled out in
frosted letters in between
The gasping for words
And searching for breath.
PS.
(In those moments,
With your hands pulling away,
I laugh nervously,
Body tingling,
Every part of me excited,
And
I am in love with you.
Every second confesses that.)
