I was bitter without reason,
Losing faith and letting go,
Holding on to something broken,
In the vastness of alone.
So I filled the crushing darkness,
With a prayer to change my pain
Place my tenderness in soft hands,
And my suffering in rain.
I hoped for something sweeter
Than the world had lain on me
But in blindness I was living,
Blanketed in misery.
While I waited in the blackness
I sent out one more plea,
Place my tattered heart in wholeness
And my wishes in the sea.
