I.

The way the sky
Would catch the blue of your eyes
And hurl it back down to me from the whitest, widest dream
(spun-like-passion)

There, you would catch me staring
But not say a word
(For words aren't needed to remember)
Instead, just trap my joy in those moments
And hand it out like candy to the children of our love,
still innocent,
Who won't recognize the laughter until it's stretched
In the grayness of life.
And pulled out of its meaning.
I could live on their honey-strung perfection forever
Graced by the warmness of color,
But not without you.

How deeply I fell inside two days
How deeply I felt inside two days

When all I wanted was one shoulder
Or the stroke of one hand
That could never have been mine

(Let's play the scene one more time
And wait for another two years to grow
And another two days to say goodbye.)

II.

So there was a greed there
Spaced between the smiles
Hung on our hearts like a heavy ocean
Tossing about hope like a useless wave
Too small to try
Too big to destroy

There was a promise
Hidden in the creases that friendship
Carefully folded into existance.

There was an answer.

III.

I remember when you lived for love,
Immersed by sparks of raging love
Swimming through requited love
As if the pain was nonexistant

Now I think what we need
Is just a definition of feeling

Out of floundering for words
To an emotion we can't speak.
And maybe when this love has passed between us,
You will smile once more.
You will live once more.
And cry never again.
