While you were sleeping,
I spoke into your ear,
Love songs and sweet nothings,
(The poetry's still here.)
While you were sleeping,
We drifted nights apart,
Those names you whispered faintly,
Tore at my love-bound heart.
And as I lay there breathing
A rustle broke the night,
So silently, I let you go,
Unready for a fight.
Eyes closed and making wishes,
You slipped out of the door,
They opened to find you missing,
I wish to sleep forever more.
